First results of the CAVEheAT project presented at two international conferences

The experiments of the CAVEheAT project are providing the first exciting results and we have not missed the chance to disseminate them at two important international conferences. In August 2018, David and Susana attended the 24th International Conference on Subterranean Biology in Aveiro (Portugal) to present the preliminary results of acclimation experiments with some species of the target leiodid clade in an oral communication. They showed that two species with different degrees of specialization to the deep subterranean environment show both similar upper thermal limits and similar acclimation capacity. More recently, they have visited Barcelona to attend the 1st Iberian Ecological Society Meeting, where the poster showed below was exposed. It summarizes the curious results obtained in thermal tolerance and acclimation capacity experiments on different arthropod species from a cave in SE Spain.
